Can I ask why do you have the highlighted ones truched?

And then: if you have updated your Wii, why 4.3's IOS80 doesn't appear?

Hello, I just updated to 65 (release) and it doesn't boot now, just black screen and I have to power off the wii. How do I re-install or do the backup file it recomended to do? Thanks

I don't know why they arer truched. I don't even know what 'truched' means. So Im guessing thats not right then? I just followed the "Modify ANY Wii 4.3 & below.." guide and this is what happened. I dunno if they were truched from that update, or that way from the update before that that was done. Always done from the same thread. This time its all automatically done with one batch file. I posted on that thread and the reply I got was everything looked good. I thought it might be an app setting I had wrong... one of the wrong files for cfgloader/usbloader to work correctly.
My wii is only on 4.2, so I guess its not fully updated then. I figured 4.3 was a firmware you didnt want to be on and thats why it only updated to 4.2 from the guide. Maybe I missed a step. So I Should I still have IOS80 then?

Thanks

No, you shouldn't have IOS80 because it belongs to 4.3. So it's right you have IOS70 (that it's 4.2's). But I still do not understand why they're truched (note: "truched" means that we can use that IOS to install third-part software - it's explained in details here).

However: can you post the config.txt file related to CFG loader? You can find it under the "usb-loader" folder.

There are tutorials who truche the IOS System Menus.For example:
http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-g...od-any-wii.html

I followed that tutorial and my System Menu IOS are truched too.I dont understand why,I understand that its convenient that they arent stubs.In the tutorial I think that its comented,if you understand it,please comment it.

Greetings.

By the way, the discs do work on the wii menu. That was the first thing I tried.

I did the sysCheck for the other wii I have. Its on 4.2 as well. I did the tutorial a few months before and there was no batch install then. The "good wii" can backup games. Here are the differences:

Good wii:
IOS4 (rev 3): Trucha Bug ES Identify Flash Access NAND Access
Bad wii:
IOS4 (rev 65280): Stub

Good Wii:
IOS10 not listed
Bad wii:
IOS10 (rev 768): Stub

Good Wii:
IOS16 (rev 257): Trucha Bug ES Identify Flash Access NAND Access
Bad Wii:
IOS16 (rev 512): Stub

Good Wii:
IOS60 (rev 6400): Stub
Bad Wii:
IOS60 (rev 6174): Trucha Bug

Good Wii:
IOS224 not listed
Bad Wii:
IOS224 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

Good Wii:
IOS249 (rev 20): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
Bad Wii:
IOS249 (rev 21): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

Good Wii:
IOS250 (rev 20): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
Bad Wii:
IOS250 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

Good Wii:
BC v2
MIOS v5
Bad Wii:
BC v5
MIOS v9

Config.txt on bad wii:

theme = NXE_transparent
device = usb
gui = start
gui_transition = scroll
gui_lock = 1
gui_style = coverflow3d
clock_style = 12am
simple = 0
confirm_start = 1
disable_remove = 0
disable_install = 0
disable_options = 0
disable_format = 1
covers_path = usb:/images/
covers_path_2d = usb:/usb-loader/covers/2D
covers_path_3d = usb:/usb-loader/covers/3d/
covers_path_disc = usb:/usb-loader/covers/disc/
covers_path_full = usb:/usb-loader/covers/full/
start_favorites = 1
console_mark_page = 0
console_mark_favorite = 1
console_mark_saved = 0
cover_style = disc

@ThaDraGun: Thanks for your detailed report.

I'm not so sure about what CFG uses to rip games. We could make some trials.

For example, try adding the following lines to the config.txt file:

ios = 249
debug = 1

(I'm not sure if the debug mode is activated even in the install-a-game mode, please confirm)

Let's see if forcing CFG to use 249 is useless or not. It should, but it's a trial.

@jesquinas: I've read why they patched them, but in my honest opinion they should have been left untouched. However: do not touch them anymore. Any modification could be very dangerous.

I would try to use the 222 version of CFG USB Loader.I have riped retail discs without problems.
ThaDraGun: Can you make the proof?

Greetings.

Animal Crossing works fine, either something is wrong with your cios or your copy of AC.
That's weird I tryed 2 different copy,I mod my 4.3u wii today with the modmii witch am guessing comes with the lates stuff, I mean this is my 5 wii I mod with modwii ,but this is the first time I tryed the animal crossing with usb cfg I tryed everything and no go just sit on black screen. Thanks anyways ill keep trying maybe copying the game directly to the HD usb cfg see if it works.

I am getting the same sort of problem.
Black screen on glee when trying to run from an ext hdd but ok if I load up the disc its ok any idears why this is config loader points to iso249 base 58 rev 21
Thanks.

I am using CFG Loader V65, which directory is the default for 2D cover, sd:/usb-loader/covers or sd:/usb-loader/covers/2d?

i know this question has already been answered but what do i need to add to my config file so that cfg displays the disc images it dl's?

A link to the right page would be just as helpful thanks in advance.

I'm having an issue with my HDD and my softmodded Wii with CFGUSB loader. I have a 1TB drive split into 2 500GB drives with F: my wbfs Partition and G: being an NTFS partition for comp backups. was working up until recently, and now will no longer read on the Wii but I can still access it on the PC with WBFS manager and the PC reads the NTFS partition perfectly..... and help would be greatly appreciated.

and yes I searched but 472 pages is a lot of info to read through.....

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I used the MODMii app by Xflak to complete the softmod.

about modmii, personaly ive never used it so..... my recomend gathering the files ur self nothing against modmii like i said ive never used it befor.some sites have a bundle pack that is free with every thing for your sd card. if you download ur games THEN U KNOW WHERE TO LOOK.

now to b a bit off topic on my part but how the heck do i get my wii back to using the rca jacks insted of s-video mind you i did my origanal softmod when the first cios from wan came out any ideas?

If you are talking about Karaoke Revolution Glee (this or this) you need to run it with a cIOS base 57.

The second path is the new default, but the first one also works (for backward compatibility i think).

maybe some preloader codes or darkcrap but generally video and softmods have nothing to do wich each other
I'd rather check the cable and tv
