I just got started with using a USB loader and chose Configurable USB loader. It's been great except one small thing. After I turn on the Wii after it's been off awhile and I run it, it goes to a screen that says "no wbns partition found". If I exit out and go right back into it, it loads right up. I have the drive formatted with FAT32. I also have the usb-loader directory at the root on both the SD card and the USB drive, but only have the config.txt on the USB drive. If I put the config.txt back on the SD card as well, then it loops the "no wbns partition found message".

I'm using version 53 of Configurable USB Loader. I tried updating to 55 through the "check for updates" option. It seemed to install, but when I ran it, it would go to a completely black screen and freeze, so I copied 53 back to the card and the drive.
Your USB drive is going into sleep. When you leave and come back that wakes it up. So it's not the loader I have the same problem.

Not sure if this is the problem but have you tried having "usb-loader" in only one place? Pick either SD or your USB drive. You should try downloading the full 55 package and replacing everything except cover images. Redownloading title databases and titles doesn't take long. 55 has worked perfectly fine for me. Lastly it might be your drive not waking up. That shouldn't happen if it's powered by USB but if it's powered by an outlet and has a power switch I would turn it off when the Wii is off and then turn it back on when you turn on your Wii.

It is a USB-powered drive. I move the Wii between rooms/TVs frequently, so it had to be USB-powered or it would be a PITA to move. If I'm running all the games from USB, then I should just have usb-loader there? I'll try updating to 55 again tonight, but probably download and copy manually instead of the "check for updates" method. I thought perhaps the "check for updates" method didn't work because I have "usb-loader" in multiple places. Would that make sense, or is it just updating files on the SD card under APPS when it does updates?

Yeah do it the manual way. The two usb-loader folders might've confused the "check for updates" method.

I know it's a pipedream, but I think what would make CFG incredibly awesome would be the ability to play the banner (little animation that plays on the wii menu) instead of the box cover, when you select a game before pressing A

This has been asked and answered more than once in this thread, i think the last time was a few pages ago.

The devs had said that while it is possible they are not really interested in adding it as a feature.

Personally i think its not needed the covers we have now do the job just fine. plus i think its been said that that the banner animations would slow down the loader.

Could someone post a link or send me the two boot screens, the ones from the previous version and the new one? I like them both and wouldn't mind trying to make a theme with them as the backgrounds. Thanks for this great loader, fat loading working perfect with v19...

How do I switch between these 2 intro's?

you cant unless you move back to a rev of CFG with the intro you prefer, recompile the source or just simple put up with what ever has been chosen by the devs.

I have updated to loader version 55 & 249 rev 19.

Games seem to be working fine, however, when I start the loader it gives the version # in the bottom right corner along with 249. As soon as it pops up [FRAG] shows up right next to 249. When I go into my options screen that shows what versions I am running it shows again 249 rev 19 [FRAG]

Does anyone else have [FRAG]?? If I am not suppose to have it, how do I get rid of it?? I reran the rev 19 install but its still there.

Thanks

This is only peripherally attached to your drive sometimes being a bit slow to wake up. The WBFS message indicates that it is not finding settings.cfg correctly. That is where you must have saved your partition=fat1 option (via saving global options).

I suggest you copy the entire usb-loader directory from the USB drive over to the SD card. It will then always work (although sometimes Cfg might enter a 30 second timeout on startup, which you can power cycle your drive to fix. I suggest leaving the covers on USB, though. Just add "covers_path=usb:/usb-loader/covers" to config.txt on the SD card after copying it over (with the other files in the usb-loader directory except for the covers subdirectory).

This just means that the loader is patching IOS249 to have oggzee's fragments module. FAT32 (at a decent speed) and NTFS on IOS249 would be impossible without it. You are meant to have it and everybody else does too.

just a guess... but isn't BCA protection new? I would think it should be 64Byte with 00 for all games except new super mario bros wii for now... not 100% on this, just my best guess

Does covers load faster if they are on the USB-drive instead of the SD-card?

I got always a correct BCA dump. But now it doesnt work anymore. I think only NSMB and Avatar uses this Area to do a check.

Tryed rev17 = no bca data

Reinstalled rev15 = bca data available

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
