I have a NTSC system and television, so if I want to play a PAL game, is there any possible damage to my television or Wii by using the "force NTSC" option? Or I should be using the default?

No problem. Or just add video=system in config.txt like I do.

what is the folder name the boot.dol is in , ps are you launching from a channel/wad or via forwarder?

most likely you installed a wad as channel and you forgot , try laucnhing it though hbc

usbloader is the folder name, forwarder channel, nope not a wad channel, this is my brother's Wii, my Wii shows the version as v51, so I tried updating through HBC but now it won't load at all, I tried through HBC but nothing happens after I press load, I tried through the fowarder channel but it goes to a black screen, now what do I do?
You mean apps/USBLoader for the directory, right? When the HBC doesn't do anything, it means you got a 0 byte .dol. Somebody else had this problem the other day in chat. Replace the file manually, either with the backup of the previous .dol which will be in the relevant directory, or with the one downloaded onto your PC.

yes apps/USBLoader folder, I did replace the whole folder but same problem of nothing happening when I tried it through HBC and the forwarder channel just goes to a black screen, what else can I try?

I need some help, not exactly with the loader, but with one of the apps linked in the first post, wbfs_file_2.8, I managed to use it, but when I try to convert from wbfs to iso it gives me an error saying I don't have enough disk space (i have more than 400gb in that usb hdd) my cmd looks like this: wbfs_file.exe F:\nameofthefile.wbfs and when I press enter it gives me that error and an empty folder in the usbhdd

If you're converting from wbfs to iso on your fat drive then it's not going to work since your iso wil be > 4GB.

is there any way to instruct wbfs_file to convert it outside the usbhdd? because it's going to be a hassle moving the wbfs file to my computer, converting it, apply the patches, and re-convert it

also, while you're kindly answering my questions

any clue why the configurator won't work?

You replaced the whole folder with the one from the v51.zip and it didn't work? That is weird. Not sure how to fix it. Hmm, on a hunch, try temporarily renaming your current apps to app2 or something and make a new apps folder with only Cfg inside of it and see if you can launch it.

You will need to use the command line and tell it the output filename is on your PC's drive.

As for the Configurator, I'm pretty much the only guy who can answer questions on that, and I already gave you a suggestion in the Configurator thread (install or update .Net Framework).

Yep,thanks for the help with the configurator and netframe, it solved the issue, will reply in your thread as well
as for the wbfs_file problem, would you give me an example, because all I've been doing is running command lines, but I am not knowleadgeable enough to figure it out, wbfs is in my documents in drive C and the wbfs folder is in drive F, so I would like the output to be in C

EDIT: well, I ended up transferring the file manually to C: (because it gave an error if I had it on Documents and settings, something to do with the "and"), but I still would love to see how is the command to indicate output to a different drive

I just had a new issue happen today; It's the first issue I've had on .51, first issue ever really.

When browsing the games in coverflow it locks up, the screen turns green, and the wii loads the system menu.

I am using a 500 gig WD passport elite drive, on a 4.2u wii with both hermes v4 and wan v17 installed.
The drive is in two partitions 32 gig fat32 for covers and config, wbfs for the rest.

I have used other usb loaders without issue.

its a corrupt image file open the files on your computer in thumbnail view or browse through them and u will find it delete and redownload them
this should be added on the front page

Try running a disk check on your sd card or copy your files to the pc, reformat the sd card and copy the files back..

Have you read the readme.txt? Or using the -h help option?
It says:

QUOTE
Usage: wbfs_file.exe [OPTIONS] [COMMAND [ARGS]]:

Given just a filename it will convert from iso to wbfs or vice versa:

wbfs_file.exe filename.iso
Will convert filename.iso to GAMEID.wbfs
And create an info file GAMEID_TITLE.txt

wbfs_file.exe filename.wbfs
Will convert filename.wbfs to GAMEID_TITLE.iso

COMMANDS:
convert
convert

Maybe that's not explanatory enough?
That means, type something like:

wbfs_file.exe f:\wbfs\game.wbfs convert c:\temp

You have to a bit more than just having Cfg on your SD card. The other things you need to do are explained in the guide in my sig. This page in particular shows you which steps you should be performing to get Cfg working (among other homebrew related things). You want to do the steps for installing games to a USB drive.

Hi,

first of all let me thank the author (and all other guys involved) for this software.
I'd like to discuss an issue that maybe related (or maybe not) with Configurable USB Loader.

I'm using Waninkoko cIOS version 13 because with all other version (even the latest one) my external HD is not recognized: if I try a newer version of the cIOS (eg. rev17) and launch the loader I get the countdown and then error "ret=-1", actually if I unplug the disk the countdown is *faster* than if the HD is plugged.

To complete the information: the HD is a Coolermaster x-craft 2.5" enclosure (so the power is entirely taken from the console) with a 80Gb Maxtor HD in it.

Thanks.

Everytime I'm trying to get the cheats.txt for PAL games with COnfigurable USB I get an HTTP 404 error.
Is there someway to fix this?
It's realy easy. If you can download some Covers without any problems, then Error 404 means no Cheats avaiable for this game. It works here for me, and also get the Error 404 at some games, simply because there isn't a Cheat-File in the geckocodes.org-Database. So yeah...It's not about fixing, it's about living with it.

(Btw: If you don't belive me, check GeckoCodes, and search for your game)

I've made another change to oggzee's rename_folders-title [id].vbs, removing a bottleneck so it can now rename 200+ folders in under 10 seconds. Btw a earlier change also allow it to re-rename folders in 'uglytitle [ID]' format to the nice names in titles.txt.

Ok I'm currently ripping alot of ISOs and I'm at TvC and it's almost done but keeps saying this:
WARNING: read (a whole lotta numbers here) error (-2) what is this error, and my Wii is making a loud clicking noise well not super loud but louder than the usual noises.

sounds like your disc is scratched/dirty and your wii is struggling to read it
