A tech guy installed a Configurable USB Loader channel in my WII a few years ago, and then I can play a lot of games from a USB hard drive.

It worked until yesterday after I inserted a WII sport resort disk, and invoked an WII update. After the update, the Configurable USB Loader channel is still there, but after entered and clicked "Start", the hard disk light blink for a few seconds, and then go dark. I had to hard power off the WII to restart it. Any idea how to repair it.

The WII "Configurable USB Loader" Channel is different from what I see in most softmod threads on the Internet, which all enter from a home brew channel, I don't have a home brew channel on my Wii.

Thank you in advance.

Hi, guru, I installed ModMii to a XP computer, and choose wilbrand and try to download, the download report 5 missing items. Like "Multi-Mod Manager", "Wilbrand" etc, any other suggestions?

Thank you

Use Modmii .. tell it your wii is a virgin wii , follow the onscreen prompts , it will from there generate a guide for you and produce the right files for you to mod your wii upto date...

ModMii is what I used. I follow the prompts, the only problem it the download failed, 5 items out of 54 items can not be download. "Multi-Mod Manager", "Wilbrand" etc.

By a way, how to tell it my wii is a virgin wii?

pwsincd,
I did what you told me, but still, the same 5 files missing, check the following screen output.

Thanks

This is why you don't update a softmodded Wii without knowing what you're doing.
Running the official Nintendo update is pointless if your Wii is already on at least 4.1 and you can disable disc updates with Priiloader which has now become standard procedure for softmodding.
The official Nintendo updates will remove any cIOS which is why your USB loader no longer works. If you did some research beforehand, you would know this and it would be a simple matter to simply reinstall the cIOS after updating.

Is it possible the location you tried to copy to has no free space left? That's the only thing I could think that would cause this unless ModMii is having some temporary server issues.
I used it less than 2 weeks ago and had no trouble.

your own post suggests your issues :

However having said that i have just attempted to do the same and indeed 3 of the files you cant download i too cannot . it is worth pointing this out to Xflak ... in the mean time you could always grab these files for yourself from other sources and placing them on the SD yourself.

or as Actar suggested above.

The problem I think that can be "dropbox": if I'm not wrong, dropbox is "closed" from China.

In WiiDownloader I use only file downloaded from google.code or mediafire.

I am in USA now, even though I registered China. I also have plenty of free space in my hard disk (about 10 G).

After the failure, I went to HackMii and install that, which I believe it was a success, so I have a Homebrew channel now.

I think now I need a mod IOS 249.

I am a n00b to Wii, so could be wrong.

Everyone helping you is a n00b (no offense to you guys, just haven't been around for as long).
Oh, except JDBye knows what he's doing.

The update installed stubbed cIOS files. First, use the internet or the Homebrew Channel to update to 4.3.1.
Next, use MMM to remove the stubs, and finally Modmii to get the new cIOS files, most importantly 222 and 249.

"Been around for as long" - this has what relavence ??

If you would read his log , he is struggling to download MMM amongst other things , initially we suggested modmii as his resource to gain the files required , upon modmii failing him i posted links to alternates as actar did , neither of those steps is noobish , Now the OP admitting he is a Noob when it comes to wii hacking he was really wisely advised to use modmii as it generates a relatively noob friendly guide to re mod your Wii , of which he would have successfully done had the downloads not failed.

Yes the upgraded stubbed his files , he doesnt need to upgrade to 4.3 to mod his wii if hes on 4.1.

I didn't mean to offend you. I just saw too many words for too few steps, and I admit I'm guilty of not even reading the whole thread.

actar, I have downloaded those 5 files from the links.
So should I unzip those files into the Copy_To_SD directory, and then go to Wii, start to work on it?

Thanks
That probably should work as long as the downloads have the folders in them where they're supposed to be placed on the SD card. If you get stuck in any step just ask for help again and we'll tell you which file you need to move to another folder on your SD card.

Not in "Copy_To_SD" directory.
For use ModMii wizard without problem, you must but those zip files (without extract them) in ModMii 'temp' folder (that, if you keep the default path, will be "C:\ModMii\temp").

Then you can use ModMii wizard and restart download without any problem: all files will be found and the guide will be created. ;)
