PS1/2 Compressing PS1/PS2 games

So do you guys compress your roms for stuff like PS1, Dreamcast of PS2? What are the disadvantages of it? I've seen compressed PS1 games at like 20MB. Does the sound and cutscene quality go to shit? Was thinking compressing Ps1 would be good for retroidpocket 2.

There are also ways to reduce the size of PS2 games -- language files for languages you don't need, for example, could be removed to save some space, or you can compress the cut scene videos. I have also read somewhere that some games contain dummy data that can be removed to save space, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. I haven't done any of this myself though, as it seems to be a lot of work if it should be applied to all the games
