Hacking Competiblility issue with R4

Heyy,
i am having a problem with my DS when i use R4.
Everytime i turn on my ds, it says "Hardware is not compatible"
what should i do?

Could you give a little bit more information please?
Which R4 do you have?
Where do you have it from?
Do you have the right/latest firmware?
