Hacking compatible saves

i accidently crushed my r4 and now i need a new flashcart, the sd card was fine so i still have my old save files. i would prefer to buy another cart that will work with these saves instead of having to restart from scratch. i think the dstt will use these saves fine, but would like some confirmation. anyone tried to move saves between carts and had them work ok, or is there an alternative to the dstt that would be better suited?

there's so many clones for the r4 these days that i would prefer to just buy a newer card with sdhc as they are pretty cheap these days.

Buy whichever card you want, as the save can be converted to work with that device.
