I wasn't really sure what to call the topic. Can anyone link me to a comparison of things like StartPatch and Preloader? What are the pros and cons of each, and what are the other alternatives (those are the only two I know of)? Thanks.

Also, is it possible to completely remove Preloader v.29?

Preloader can have additional hacks added to it as time passes. StartPatch will require a new version to add other patches. (I doubt others will need to be added, though.)

Preloader also has more brick resistance. You can auto-boot into the Homebrew Channel if you have a banner brick or something. Both let you access the recovery menu easily, though, in case of another type of brick.

The easiest way to remove Preloader is to install a pristine System Menu over it. Grab or create the System Menu WAD, and install via WAD Manager. Remember to install the System Menu's IOS first!

Does Waninkoko's installer automatically install the system menu's IOS?

Also, how do you access the recovery menu through Preloader?

Hold the reset button on your wii while you turn it on.

    Yes. IOS60.

Or you can just install cios rev 10 and then run a nintendo update.

But if you want to install a different system menu ( v3.4 and below ) just use the cios downgrader.

Would I be safe with cIOS Rev09 and performing a Nintendo update? Rev10 causes a couple games I want to play to not work on the USBLoader.

Yes. I did this with no issues.
