Hardware Comments about the new 3ds C-stick.

So i just got my new 3ds xl today, is been fully a9hl already and all done by myself with zero problems and errors. Besides that, I had used it to play some circle pad pro games and noticed how disappointing it is. So i was curious what is your opinion about the c-stick or the button layout? Personally if the system was just a bit more like circle pad pro, i would be happy about that, the zl zr buttons behind the left and right bumper like the classic controller pro, and the c-stick was more like the regular size thumb stick (The left circle pad above the directional pad)

Yeah it's not great. I'd replace it with a PSP nub if I didn't mind opening it up. Generally the smaller N3DS and newer N3DS XLs (2016) have better c-sticks.

There are some differences between USA 2015 and 2016 N3DS XL models from what I've seen. There's a logo or something on the backplate (not sure whose, maybe a manufacturer?) and the c-stick seems to be less stiff.

I'd prefer if it was a slider, but it's not that bad since I rarely use it.

If you wanna switch it with a psp nub it's actually pretty easy. You don't have to touch the motherboard. You just have to remove eight screws on the back and three screws holding the c-stick pad in place.

You don't need to break the C-Stick. Open the console from behind and on the place where the C-Stick is, there are 3 screws, remove them and the C-Stick will come out easily. Takes 5 minutes to open, remove the nub and close the console without doing any kind of damage.

You don't need to even do that...
Just pry out the c-stick and cut out the two loops holding it back. Then pry out the whole c-stick and replace it with a psp nub.
Simple. If you need to put the c-stick back in you either have to cut off the loops completely and put it back in, or take the psp nub out, buy a new n3ds nub, and screw it back in.

But why destroy a perfectly good C-Stick that could be put back together if for some reason you had send the console in to be repaired instead of just opening the console and taking it out safely? That makes no sense.

xD I don't like the idea of taking apart my 3ds. Plus anything is better than rubbing on a rubber nipple when trying to play games.
