When I first saw this game I though it was an RPG, actually. Watching the videos, it looks like it might be one of those really button-mashing kinds of games. I like beat-em-ups well enough but I prefer them to be like Final Fight or the Arkham games, where it's slower paced but there's more thinking and strategizing involved. Having said that, I haven't played this yet so I'm reserving judgment. I may pick this up if the price drops between cheap and dirt cheap though, as I've still got a lot of (good) games waiting to be played.
Code of Princess is an RPG, and I'd surmise that button mashing in an ARPG such as this would only serve to increase the chance of dropping your 3DS.

Should I have said JRPG? Anyway, as far as action RPG's go, a good example is Ys 7, which pretty much requires button-mashing due to its fast pace. Action RPGs are still action games you know. In addtion, I agree that such games drastically increase the chance of dropping your console, which fortunately never happened to me (thank you pause button).

I really just dont see the charm in this game, it looks kinda crap even for a beat-em-up, I gotta side with Janth on this one. I think most people are just getting lured in by the eye
-candy, or the fact Altus is the developer.
That's probably because it's an Action RPG. And I doubt it has anything to do with the aesthetics, especially since on the cover she's mostly covered up and in the videos they don't actually emphasize her scantily clad apparel. It's been getting almost nothing but praise from the critics (not that I say one should go by reviews alone, but it's a convenient for such an example).

Either way, I'm interested. I'm a fan of ARPGs, and this one looks pretty good.

Its an A-RPG? Thats even worse!

It's a JRPG as well (if it's an RPG and it's from Japan, it's a JRPG), and of course I know that Action RPGs are Action Games, it's in the name (plus it's one of my favorite genres, so I've played quite a few of them. Still, Action RPGs often require strategy. An accurate example would be .Hack//GU, Dark/Demon Souls, or Monster Hunter, where you need not button mash, lest you be killed. This looks to be the same way in that respect, but I'm only going from the videos and a review. I'll try my hand at the game before I actually hold that position.
