I'm actually impressed that Call of Duty will be one of the first game series to touch on the US' increasing reliance on drone technology to wage war as a major part of the plot (I'd say MGS4 could count as well, at least up to the part where the robots moo like cows and urinate.) Quite the interesting development, isn't it?

Black Ops was a really great experience, and Treyarch outdid themselves stuffing that game to the very brim with content. The setting is interesting, the plot certainly has potential, I can get my Indiana Jones going with some horses... yeah, it's shaping up nicely. I'm definitely looking forward to some more in the way of details.

Can't really say i'm that moved by this trailer, expected to see some gameplay.

welcome to the era of modern gaming...where most trailers try to sell you with the cutscenes and action not show you the main thing you will be doing...like..uh...playing the damn game?!

It was just a launch trailer to get you affiliated with the setting/plot. Usually "plot trailers" and "gameplay trailers" are mutually exclusive.

okay, I will agree on that one...since they still have about 6-7 months of development left...they probably don't want to show gameplay (plus it would look the same and turn people off XDD)

but even commericals for games that are already out, don't even show any gameplay anymore....just throw a overrated pop song over some cutscenes and moments of action in the game and expect people to buy it.....

Point recognized.

As for this trailer itself, it gives us/me the impression that there's gonna be a pretty epic campaign. To say the least.
Who's up for a mobile land-based killstreak package B-)

There's a few Treyarch interviews on some websites, stating a couple of interesting points:
-The game wil have Zombies
-Campaign picks off right after the events of Black Ops 1 before jumping into the future
-Possible branching storyline and/or different endings
-Drone combat during the campaign plays a bit like an RTS at times
-The main villain is "more relatable", "more human"
-"rare earth elements"

As I recall, a "launch trailer" is a trailer that is released when the game launches. This would be a reveal trailer, no?

Edit: Just watched the vid. Looks legit, as far as CoD games go. For the genre as a whole it looks par for the course. Nothing special, just what they should've done years ago back when it would've been a good idea. If those mechs are in the competitive multiplayer, they may sell me on it. Otherwise if it's a reskin of Black Ops, then no thanks.

As for the horses, I'd guess that every car ever is on this management program which the terrorists now control (or whatever) so they have to use flesh and blood to move around, which makes sense.

Woah, RTS at times? Haha if this is true, this could be interesting.

"overrated pop song"

I can't say I've seen many commercials for games with "overrated pop songs" unless it's like... Just Dance which is entirely based on "overrated pop songs".

I loved Blops Zombies so hopefully it will return! we once played like 7 hours straight zombies. So much fun!

I kinda like how they keep the Blops-subject and it's going to be interesting how it feels in a futuristic setting. Also I thought Blops was better then MW2&3, especially capain-wise, though I know nobody plays CoD for its campain...

if they'd have this and maybe Fifa on WiiU at launch it would be strong, since most casual hardcore gamers play these two games the most here in europe!

okay....maybe not *pop* songs..but when we talk about "trailers with little to no gameplay on a finished product..." this one of them that comes to mind"

couldn't of said it better myself

"The future is Black"

Its a quote explaining the future for the Call of Duty franchise,
Unfortunately they are a little late to that conclusion...
