so will it downgrade firmware ATM my only choice for CFW is either look for a used 3.55 OFW ps3 or pay someone to do it with one of the available options to downgrabe but if i recall they require sodering and i dont trust myself opening my ps3. or am i misunderstanding as to what it is

This is a somewhat solderless. (Only for newer Slim PS3s do you have to solder.) This allows you to USB Load PS3 games on any firmware. No need for downgrading.

You let us know when they've got something that lets me use the 3Key on PS3s that can't downgrade or aren't on 3.55.

Otherwise this is the thing to use for my newer PS3. Willing to wait a bit for it..

Same here... have no choice but to wait for this on my super slim.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I check this site more frequently then I refresh cobra-ode page :D

For where the drives go, I *think* I see SATA ports up top and PATA on the bottom. Hard to see from that angle. But that seems strange like we would use internal drives instead of external USB drives? But they say they will support USB drives though.

Still many questions! :D

And I assume the 'daugher boards' they talk about will be soldered to the PS3 for slim models.

>Perfect that's great. Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Is there a determined date they go on sale now you've got the hardware issue out of the way? Thanks

Hello!

Not yet. It will be soon, but we still have some small issues to fix.

It can be one day, to 10 days.

I'm starting to get excited for this now. Trying to decide if I want to pre-order or hold off until some reviews are in. I'm still a little skeptical how well it will work on super slims, so I'll probably let someone else be the guinea pig :)

So will this work on the new super slim ps3? If so how do you install it? Im guessing soldering is involved how hard would it be for someone who never soldered anything to install this?

From what I can tell from the information available, they do claim it will work on new super slims (I have one too and that's the reason I have been following this so closely) and that it will require some soldering on super slims. But how much and how easy ? I dunno.

I can say that if you have never soldered before, you are not going to want to start by soldering on your PS3.

So they went from a shipping in 2 weeks, to no updates in 2 months...

There has been a ps3 update (or a couple) since this was announced, I wonder if these had impact on the project, making them have to majorly delay it or cancel it entirely.

It does seem weird to go this long without any word. All the resellers were allowing preorders, and they released a pic of the near-final board. I would say it is a safe bet this is dead, unfortunately.
