(If this is in the wrong section I am very sorry, I assume this should be posted here. If not I appologise)
Hey all, Hatchetball here to talk about Cobalt and editing Cobalt.
I'm going to just jump straight into it here we go :D

If anyone out there has anything to add to this post it would be very
appriciated. Most people don't have this game and should. It's very
lovable, much like the majority of games releasd by Mojang and Oxeye.
In all of my findings I am using v100 Alpha (Offline) if anyone is curious.
Controls are a HUGE issue at this early point in the "Alpha" release,
which is basically a beta release, ironically named "Alpha" - They call
it Alpha but told us all right up front "This game is NOT finished,
    YET"

Luckily I've been working with some coding to fix these control issues.
I use a USB PS2/PS3 controller myself so I've made a .lua file that I
can use for better controls. No doubt I'm not the only person who has
done this, but I see no guides ANYWHERE else at the point of writing
this (12/20/2011) (Game released on: 12/16/2011)
Keybinding programs: Useless at the moment for this game. I've tried
it, it's pointless, it's actually less buggy to add in a custom control
    file.

You'll notice I highly the use of a USB gamepad I do this a large amount because of Cobalts lack-luster ability to do custom keyboard controls, as well the current buttons are very bunched together making it rather difficult to play. Using a gamepad allows to break from that freedom and actually play hardcore.

The only useful tool I've came across was CCC made by Mr_TP, Cobalt
Control Changer is the full name of the tool.

NOTE TO USERS: Always have a backup! If you are going to edit
something, keep a backup until you have succesfully edited that file to
    perfection!

Thank you all for taking the time to check this out. I plan on adding:
    More information
    Pictures
    Videos
    More guides
I plan to use my powers of OCD to make this post look better as well...

I will do what I can to answer all questions as quick as possible.
I do hope this information will help people in deciding if they want to get this game.
I recommend getting it now while it's really cheap and in it's testing stages.
The Dev's are great and offer tons of support!
PM me if you need any files

If you are trying to find a pirated version of this: Good luck, it's not easy, and I don't recommend it either. It's worth every penny it costs to buy this game. (Roughly $12 USD I think it was, I paid the 20 euro for Gold which still is not bad) Support the devs and don't get this pirated.
There are apparently cracked versions out. I'm not sure how the crack for Cobalt works but apparently it does?
I will help with questions either way.

    Multiplayer:
I have not tested online yet. USB HUB + friends with USB gamepads + a crapload of profile editing = fun
Laggy on small maps with more than 6 people, somewhat, could use work.
Big maps were fine and supported 11 players just fine.

Updated as of 12/26/11 - Reason: USB gamepad support issues looked into and solved 100%
Sorry to double post (It's been 6 days since I last posted...) but this issue has been annoying players and does get in the players way while playing.
I do believe it is a neccessary update, I am sorry for not catching it sooner.
As well I updated the keyboard/gamepad clone glitch, it was caused by the keyboard having a active profile. Simply delete that profile from Cobalt/profiles and done.
Finally I explained further how to create a error free USB gamepad file.
Movies will edited in later today
