Is there something on wii u that allows clipping like the switch? (maybe using the tv button)

If you’re talking about taking about taking screenshots like the Switch has there is a screenshot plugin for Aroma that uses a button combination on the GamePad (not the TV button).

Cool! I'll check it out! Do you know about clipping videos too?

You can set it to the TV button.
Speaking of it, since there is no way to record videos on Wii U, having the the same dual-action capability of the capture button from the Switch would still be useful, this way just tapping the button would still take a screenshot but holding it for longer would open the TV remote menu.

(not sure if it has ever been considered though)

Don't really care about the TV Remote menu so overwriting it with the screenshot funtion was never an issue with me

I wouldn't care either if the Wii U could automatically sync to my TV when I turn the console on/off or mute itself when I plug a headset to the gamepad, things that other consoles can do but the Wii U can't.

The issue is probably opening the TV menu from the Wii U side, since it's fully handled on the Gamepad itself.
Haven't looked into it though.
