Okay so I'm very fucking incompetent when it comes to wii. My wii is soft modded, I don't know if that'll be of much use though. I recently lost access to my gamecube controllers and I'm aware that when in gc mode the wii shit locks up. Is there any way possible to use a wii classic controller in gc mode?

one of the cool things about nintendont, is that its meant to be ran from a frontend. for example, i have CFGUSBLoader for all my backups. its setup so that gamecube games are displayed as well and initiate nintendont when selected. definitely check it out

Alternatively there are classic to gamecube adapters (and ones doing the opposite), which exactly due to the existence of Nintendont and dependency on a wiimote are more interesting for Wii/WiiU mode :)

so if i buy a classic controller it will work on Nintendont?

Sure! Without any configuration even on those "non backward compatible" Wii's.. Just connect it before starting Nintendont.

But let me tell you that playing with an original NGC controller is unbeatable.

playing with a ps4 pad .. buttons bit backwards config.ini did not change anything .. saw a classic controller in gamestop for $10

Are you using most recent version of Nintendont? That one doesn't need configuration of gamepads at all.
Using a Classic Controller is a good option indeed, you'll also get analog L/R buttons, something not possible if using a Controller Pro, so anyway, I don't like having my Wiimote turned on while playing GC games, so I prefer using a real GC controller.

You can get Analog Button Emulation on the CCP by pressing L+Bumper buttons

OK, but emulation its not the same as real analog input. Thanks for that tip, actually I didn't knew it, don't have a Classic Controller Pro... Or maybe yes, can't remember as I don't need it.
