Homebrew Clarification Thread - What is going on?

Please do not flame or hate on what I am about to ask. Since snshax is no longer being developed, would it be ok if I updated to 10.3 or no?

Cant wait for this so i can finally use 9.2 fully, i hate my original import n3ds that was on 9.2 got bricked somehow even though i got a hardmod installed. The dang thing wont even stay on, you click power and it turns on for like 2 seconds and just turns back off. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?

The fact that it was hardmodded tells me that it's probably that problem TONS of people had where, and I quote, " the system powers up for a few seconds then shuts off with a *pop*" its because one of the cables inside aren't attached properly

You think thats it? Hundshammer did it for me and couldnt figure out why it did that, it worked fine when i first got it back, could it be easy to fix or can i send it to someone else?

Basically each and every title on the NAND in uninstalled and an old version of it (for example the versions from 9.2) is then installed... We must uninstall the old version as the currently installed version is always checked and if the version you're trying to install is less than the currently installed version it won't install the title, whereas if it has nothing to check against then it just installs it

So if it was downgraded to 9.2 for example, will System Settings show the version it was downgraded from, or it will change to 9.2 along with the System Settings .cia?

I assume that after using memchunkhax2 to downgrade to 9.2 we will be able to use Gateways launcher.dat to make a NAND backup at that point.?

Well when he first sent it back, it was perfect. After a couple of days it would only power on with a blue error screen with code, so i sent it to him again because he said he would fix it, and about after a month he claimed it was doing the power on and turning off thing which he didnt know what to do so he sent it back to me and gave me the install fee refunded, but i still wasted 170$ for the console which is nothing but a paperweight now

He didn't ask for it back for a look? Wow, from what I've heard his service is pretty good, first I've heard of that sort of thing

EDIT: saw above post... Sucks, though it's probably one of the screens that isn't connected properly

Well he did, it started having a blue screen with code while being powered on so i had to send it back to him, then about a month of him having it, he claimed it started doing the powering on and instant off thing so then he sent it back and gave me an install refund but i want the thing fixed i spent money on it and i only had it total of 2 months, probably havnt even put 4 hours into it due to sending it off and waiting. I felt really sketched about the service tbh.

Good point. someone said that they are ~65% (Thats a tilde, its a forum bug apparently) done.

Thing is on my phone (Android 5.1 with Google Chrome, version 44.0.2403.133 (for thoroughness)) I can see SOME tildes (like yours) in the original post that they were posted in, while others I can only see as a dash... It's really weird
