Homebrew Clarification Thread - What is going on?

Glad I got my New 3DS hard modded now i'll just restore a fresh 9.2 backup,update to 10.3, backup 10.3, then go back to 9.2

What would the point of that be though?
Were you on 9.2 and then got a backup of that and updated sysnand for whatever reason?
Not very much point in upating to 10.3 to make a backup of 10.3 and then restoring 9.2 backup. When you're already on 9.2 you can already just use cfw.

Not quite. You'll only really get ARM11 kernel access on 10.3
You still need ARM9 access for any meaningful CFW.
ARM11 allows you to downgrade back to 9.2 though (I heard it may also allow 9.3 or 9.4 to run cfw as the ARM9 vulnerability itself wasn't patched yet, only the ARM11 one was.)
