Just a bunch of people who failed at installing cIOSCORP and bricked their Wii.

So screwed a BUNCH of people huh ??? Hell GBATemp is known for people "beta" testing everything and almost anything that gets put here. I guess people had been so use to not failing that we/they got a little careless/thoughtless as to expect SOMETHING to go wrong eventually ??? ...........or what ????

The thing is, it's a risky mod that turns your wii's innards into Scrambled IOS and people who don't understand what they're doing can gut their wii's software setup when trying to remove it. it also confuses apps like the HackMii Installer that need some semblence of organization in the IOS's to know how to function. And all it does is let you play burned stuff from the disc channel, which preloader and cIOS rev14 can let you do if I recall correctly.

Probably never: cIOSCORP is outdated and I think not maintained anymore.
Just take a nice cIOS and a good USB loader and forget cIOSCORP

OK...thanks. I was just kind of wondering what the deal was. I haven't needed CORP since I set up a buddies Wii and was wondering what was going on with it as it DID seem like a useful tool at the time.

it was useful at the time but anymore its just to dangerous to mess with. especially when there's so many better options. at the time i did install it to a few friends wii's but now i've got them hooked up on the Usb Loader including myself, much better i think plus sense i burned all their games for them for free I save money to. yaaay

Wait, a diverse group of people that have differing opinions? Blasphemy!! =)

But seriously, there are some things we mostly agree on:

• NeoGamma is great.
• USB Loading is the best thing since sliced bread.
• Waninkoko makes great software.
• Pir.....err ...Backups are great
• Pushing the Wii hardware beyond what Nintendo intended it to do is fun
• We love noobs since they are just too cute with their bricks.

Okay so I was kidding on the last one.

I for one would love to see what an updated CIOSCORP could bring. I do not disagree with the fact that usb loaders and neogamma are great, but having the option to play any disc from the disc channel is great. Especially for those that have small children or younger siblings.

Is CIOSCORP the best option for all, no. But now that we have bootmii, and other options to reinstall legit system IOS. I say give it a shot.

If noobs don't read the directions and understand what they are doing, then let them brick.
