Hacking cIOS36 or cIOS38?

It won't cause any problems, but it will overwrite it since they both install to IOS249. As of cIOSv12, IOS249 is based on IOS38 instead of 36, that's all.

Personally, I'd stick with rev9 or 10 (both IOS36 based) for now, since revs 12 and 13 seem to be causing some issues for folks (dodgy hd support etc), but that may just be because programs making use of the new version still need to have some code updated.

cIOS38 has replaced cIOS36 in the latest revs (but still installs to 249). You can use either; they serve the same purpose. I understand that the new 38 based version works with those pain in the ass LU64s though.

cIOS36rev10 is the 10th revision of cIOS, which was based on IOS36
cIOS38rev13b is the 13th revision (second build) of cIOS, which was based on IOS38

The important thing as the end user is the "cIOS" part and the "revXX" part. Anything cIOS will install on the Wii as IOS249.

Well, not ANYthing cIOS. For example, the cIOS USB that installs as 222 (or 202). But for waninkoko's cIOS revs, yes.

Well ANYTHING cIOS doesn't install as ios249 but all of waninkoko's rev ___ installers will install to IOS249. But yes the important think here is don't do anything to your IOS that aren't above 200. Pretty much anything below that are other IOS that your Wii needs for other purposes and deleting those can have major effects depending on what runs off them. All cIOS should be over 200 and in this case the only thing that concerns you is IOS249 which is where either cios rev will install to whether it's based off IOS36 or IOS38. And from your end you really don't need to worry about even that as they will just install over eachother just the same. All you should care about is if you have problems that your current revision installed doesn't take care of then try to update to the most recent one to see if it fixed it.

if you don't need mic/keyboard or any usb accessory for example in animal crossing, then you can stay on rev10.
but if u need your accessories you should stick to rev9 from waninkoko or the rev11 made by hermes.

in cIOS rev10 the usb ports won't work for mics etc.

Yes, he's right. 10 is just fine as long as you don't need USB accessories.

A known random USB Loader GX bug, it's just a graphical bug.
You can still use the loader, or restart and it should be back to normal.

yup after I restart it the the hand does comeback. But the problem is I haven't been able to get the remote to show in any of the games after it's loaded through the usbloader.
it makes it hard to choose any button like 1 or 2 players and the settings button.
