cIOS Clone Installer with Korean Disc Support
- rev06.9 by QLeap

Note:

This readme basically written by tona from cIOS Clone installer rev05 , and
modified by QLeap.

Description:

This program will download IOS37 from the Nintendo update servers, patch it,
and install it as IOS249--making a completely functional "clone" of
Waninkoko's cIOS rev06 plus Korean Disc decoding support in any region Wii.
This process does not involve any system-critical parts of the system, and
should be completely safe. Of course, however, this software comes with no
warranty whatsoever.
Also, if this applications detects IOS249 installed, it will attempt
uninstallation. So you can run it once to install, run it again to uninstall.
Pretty simple.

Why:

Waninkoko's cIOS patches are useful, but a couple of barriers prevent many
people from installing it. One, the normal installer requires someone "find,"
build, or dump a WAD of IOS36 or IOS37. Two, some people feel an aversion to
Waninkoko's applications (on which I have no comment). Patchmii has been out
for longer than cIOS, and it's perfect for the task. I finally found a use for
cIOS and decided this might be useful in helping surmount the aforementioned
barriers.

Differences:

This program based on IOS37 whilst rev06 uses IOS36, because of the Korean disc
support. However, all of other patches are the same with cIOS rev06 with
Waninkoko's including dip plugin. I have tested es modules, not dip modules.
but dip module (especially dip plugin) is same with Waninkoko's job it should
work. or you may fix if you can.

HOW TO TEST KOREAN DISC?

Download Gecko OS 1.7b for cIOS version at
http://wiibrew.org/w/images/7/78/Geckoos_1.7b_for_cIOS.zip
and install it with this cIOS.
This Gecko OS will load cIOS and uses Korean Disc Decoding feature! enjoy it!

WARNING ON INSERTING KOREAN DISC IN OTHER REGION WII :

If you insert Korean Disc on System Menu then launch any channel (disc channel,
Shopping, Weather, News or Homebrew channel whatsoever), Wii will be locked up
in black screen.
This is not cIOS' problem. It's the way System Menu with IOS30 does in non
Korean region Wii.
If you starts System Menu with cIOS Korean Disc Support version with Menu
Loader, it never shows black screen. So it's IOS30's problem because of no
Korean Key.
So please insert Korean Disc after launching Homebrews (HBC, GeckoOS and so on)
if you have non Korean Wii.

Changelog:

rev06.9:
- Initial release, for rev06.9.
- All features are cIOS rev06 compliant.
- Plus Korean Disc decoding support in any region Wii.

License:

Patchmii is licensed under the GPLv2, and as such a copy of the license is
included. Some non-patchmii material is under a BSD-like license.

Thanks to:
- Team Twiizers
- tona for great cIOS patchmii installer
- Waninkoko for great job in cIOS and dip plugin and so on
- WiiGator for elf plugin installer

Hopefully Korean Disc supporting feature should be added in next Waninkoko's
cIOS officially.

Awesome for those wanting to play korean backups

Out of interest for the rest of us, are there any korean exclusive games?

Patchmii is great, but i wonder if nintendo will block such downloads from their servers in the future

Well, no.
But some titles are different, like Super Mario WII!

Thank you thank you so much for this! I've been trying to find a way to get Korean games to load for a very long time.

To OSW... there aren't any Korean exclusive games (yet), but this will be very useful to many Koreans. A lot of people imported Japanese or American Wiis because the Korean Wii was released very late. Now that the Korean wii is available many people want to play games in their native language so this is great!

it says it downloads IOS37. wouldn't it be a better clone if it was built off of IOS36 like the actual cIOS's?

Edit: Read readme, saw reason, pl0x no flame.
