Hacking cIOS 20 Eastern Egg trigger revealed ?

try one of these GC games, Xtreme G3, FZero, PaperMario, only cretain games work I heard.

I've got a chipped wii, should it work still. I've tried originals of quite a few (tiger woods, all star baseball)
but no luck yet.
just tried F-Zero. Still nothing. Maybe you need the cmios for it to work?

You need Waninkokos cMIOS or the loader screen won't show up. Also it appears the loader only works with DVD-Rs. My original discs won't boot.

Ok I'm playing Mario Sunshine from a disc... and the Wiimote is still turned on (?)

Which games work highly depends on the installed cMIOS:
Waninkoko rev5: Most retail games(some need the eject trick...), most backup discs
WiiGator's cMIOS: It depends which variant you installed:
the one with backup launcher support: Only backup discs
the one without backup launcher support(for example from the NeoGamma thread): Only retail discs(some need the eject trick...)

Well it does not just boot MIOS, but all in all i would say it's a useless feature. But hey it's just an easter egg, so there's nothing to complain.

tried it with wind waker backup and it just went to a green screen lock up... power button worked to reset the wii though

edit: tried it again and cMIOS came up but it said error: disc change then the wii rebooted

this is with WiiGator's cMIOS... doing a nand backup at the moment, may try installing waninkoko's when its done

I wonder how the thing reacts if you put a Wii disc in that original says its a Gamecube disk (like TP Demo / Nintendo Backup Disc 1.21)

None the less, great to mess with GC games in Wii mode.

I'ma try it next time I'm turning my Wii on. heh

No. It just runs GC discs in Wii mode, at Wii CPU clock speed. You still need a disc.

Press Eject 6 times -> loads cmios -> please insert disc -> puts disc in -> error disc changed.

Im using the cmios with wiigators backup launcher embedded into it.

OMG this is great! I started YAWMM, reloaded IOS249, pressed eject 6 times, insterted a gamecube disk, and the game started up! The wiimote has still sync and my HDD is still on! OK, the game crashed before main menu, but that's not important!
