I desire to know what happens to my game and updates if I install a later firmware, I would like to update from 6.1.0 to 7.0.1. I have some .nsp games and .xci games w/ .nsp updates to those games installed and legit Nintendo updates to legit game carts.

They will be fine, you will burn your fuse if autoRCM is off and if you boot without a bootloader.

Everything will work fine. Just make sure you have the latest sigpatches on your micro sd card (If you don't use SX OS).

If you don't care about downgrade, you can uncheck autoRCM during the installation.

If you want to downgrade back to lower firmware then yes, if not no it doesn't matter.

You mean Atmosphere, as Kosmos is a file pack not a CFW.

EmuNAND is simple. Enter SX OS menu, create EmuNAND (make a 1:1 copy of your current SysNAND) and then boot in EmuNAND. If your paranoid, install EmuNAND as hidden partition.

Save space on your micro sd card for EmuNAND and buy a cheap HDD for xci games. Since you use SX OS you can mount xci games.

How does sx OS read the emunand?
So would i have to format the HDD to exfat right? i have spare 1tb external lying around somewhere. Then what drag and drop games onto root of drive? or make a file structure similar to that of my MicroSD? ALSO im would can i connect the external drive to the switches dock and it would read it? Or do i have to plug it into the bottom of switch with External power delivery connected to that?

Format to exFAT, drag and drop xci to the root of your micro sd card, connect external hdd to the dock. You can also connect it to the usb c port of your switch.

For me the only interesting part is coldboot. That's why I keep my SysNAND on 2.1.0 and my EmuNAND is on 7.0.1
