is there any way run iso's or copied discs without the use of a mod chip???

ok- will there ever be a way to patch roms with trucha singer so they will un-modded

no because the games are on a copied disk they have to run via a modchip, trucha wont be able to modify the internal security checks of the dvd drive and the wii

the fact that everyone on this site talks about modchips and how to chip their wii shouldve been a big clue. sometimes the best things in life arent free. go get it done, it will be the best money you ever spend

I have my xbox softmodded... I don't need to have a mod-chip to play "backup" games. I just burn and play.

The only way there will not be a softmod for the Wii is if the disc's have built in security... like the old PS1 games with the intentional bad data written to it. But even that can be forged with a properly hacked OS.

Just wait a while longer. When the Wii OS is finally dumped, someone will find a way to upload it agian. Then someone will find a way to "fake" the signature of real Wii discs, and poof, softmod!

Nope. The Wii hardware checks that the disk was pressed. To ""fake" the signature" you would need to be able to press your own disks. Not just burn them.
