Ok, I can't get cheats working on my DSTwo, at all. I've tried formatting the microSD card, downloading fresh files, loading the usrcheat.dat and checking "Enable All," "Encrypt," and "Sort by Title" in rccce, and still nothing loads or shows up, for any game, at all. This is getting extremely annoying. It worked fine on my EZ Vi cart.

Ok, so I have the most recent usrcheat.dat (the "temporary" one from June 20th) in my _dstwo folder where it's supposed to be, and no matter which game I choose, no cheats show up for me to scroll through and choose. I've looked everywhere and verified that I did this all right, so what am I missing here?

Yup, mine haven't worked for the last three or so updates of the usrcheat.dat file.

Same problem - I can see the cheats when you go for them before you load the rom, and you can tick enable them.
When you've loaded the rom and are playing and access the cheats, the page is blank (and any cheats you ticked before loading are not in effect during play).

They don't even show up in the list for me, ever. Not before loading the game, and not while playing it.

try mine!
if it still doesn't then send them the bug report
make sure you tell them what version of SD CARD you are using and etc

SD cards shouldn't matter here. Are you sure you put it in the "_dstwo" folder?
As it's for all games, that's the only thing I can think of, except for a firmware problem, or a faulty DSTWO.

Yes, it's in the _dstwo folder, and it's named usrcheat.dat.

before i upload i had crosschecked and making sure cheats do display for various game

if you are using yet you don't see anything.... then report it
and
sorry i could not help

Ok, just out of chance I discovered that Tales of Innocence, with the Absolute Zero patch applied, actually has cheats, and displays them, and they work. I thought at first it had to do with the ROM not being trimmed (I didn't trim it at all, knowing that the patch would probably require the original untouched file), so I slapped a trimmed copy onto the card too, to see if that affected the cheats. Nope. Trimmed or not, the cheats loaded with both ROMS. Now I'm utterly confused here, but now that I know that the ROM itself is more likely the culprit, I'm gonna try editing the header of ToI to see if that messes it up.

EDIT: Yep, sure enough, I used RomeR to edit the header, and deleted the third line, "Absolute Zero v1.0 [English]" or whatever it was, and the cheats don't display anymore.

It's not so much as the game IDs, as those are correct, but apparently the header info. I'll see if I can fix the header or edit the cheat database to get them working again, and I'll let you know how that goes.

UPDATE: Yep, I loaded the database in r4cce, and replaced the header/game ID info for a few games. On the right, you can see the GameID, which is correct, but the field next to that, I have no idea what that is. But I clicked on the "..." box next to those fields, and chose the ROM, which then loaded that info to the database and replaced that info in the other field (but not the GameID), saved it, and checked it out, and sure enough, they show up now. So it seems that the DSTwo firmware is also relying on the header info to load the cheats from the database. So if the ROM header has been edited, it won't even match up, even if the GameID is correct. I'll see if I can report this bug to the Supercard Team, and hopefully they address it in the next release.

when i say GAME ID, it includes the CRC........... and this is what we have been trying to tell you
go use r4cce check the GAME ID
smile.gif
(r4cce only indicates the GAME ID)

yeah.. you might be arguing that the game id is ABCD but not the 12345678.....
it doesn't matter much anymore... since problem solved

Sorry, you confused me about that since you asked me before for the CRC for one of the games but never followed up on that. And every program I used showed the correct Game ID, but did not indicate that there was anything wrong with the CRC except for NDS Header Tool, which said the dump was good, but that the CRC16 Secure area was "BAD." Very odd, conflicting info there. Anyway, what IS that other data that r4cce displays, next to the Game ID?

Is this where I officially report bugs and suggestions? I didn't see a "Contact Us" or email link anywhere on the site.
