Hacking charging the rechargeable battery ?

does anyone know do you have to keep putting the flash cartridge back into the usb and into your pc to keep the rechargeable battery within the G6 topped up?
or does it stay running and charged when its inside the DS??

I believe it charges while playing..

it charges in the USB Burner, but if it runs low, it'll start sucking the battery outta ur DS
