Hardware charging 3ds xl

is it fine to keep the 3DS XL charged every night even if u don't use it during the day much?

i could power it on/off but i dont like doing that because i hate loading up gateway incase it crashes.

is that fine or is it detrimental to the battery?

You would hope that in this day and age (sound really old there don't I) that there would be a cut out for when the battery is fully charged wouldn't you.

Interested in this myself as I like to put my boy's consoles on charge overnight even if they only used them for 30 mins or so.
