Thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/4g81xh/has_3ds_hacking_gone_too_far/
Instructions: http://pastebin.com/wu0E81hF

It's a very manual process, and apparently not easily undone.
chinese hackers made a tool a while ago so that chinese text would be better supported in some games, it temporarily injects the system font. the fonts are stored on the sd card so quite easily you could test stuff out without worrying or wasting too much time... :)
it's cool that guy on reddit made it permanent, but when i pointed out it's not new... i got some downvotes :D (of course no comments replying to me!)
i played around a little and yes it works, the latest version of it is 1.1 from august i think, i'm not sure when 1.0 came out though

Since when is restoring a nand backup or downloading the original font as cia from NUS not easy?
Yeah... Restoring your entire NAND just to undo a font change isn't "easily undone".

Reading is hard :(

Also, when I made that post (And I still haven't seen anyone manage to do it) nobody had gotten base font restoring working from NUS/an original font CIA
