Misc Changing friend code

Hey guys, so I want to join a Black Ops Ds clan okay? Problem is, I originally used the European version of the game , and used that savefile on the USA version. Unfortunately, in doing that, my friend code doesn't seem to work with USA friend codes, nor can people using the usa version add me. Got any solutions that don't involve me starting from scratch?
