So I'm trying to change a Pokemon US Ultra Sun cartridge (or Sun/Moon software) into a Japanese version to use the Japanese mystery gift function. I'm pretty sure I have the latest 3DSLuma version (10.0.1-c913de1), but I'm still not sure how to switch the region of specific game. This guide (https://3ds.hacks.guide/a9lh-to-b9s) to upgrading from a9lh to b9s, linked me to another guide (https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Optional-features) which gives confusing directions to use the "locale.txt" in the "/luma/titles/TID/" folder but then it says to place the "locale.txt" in the "/luma/titles/......" folder. Another guide () says use app called Luma Locale Switcher, but it doesn't' load because of "A FATAL ERROR!" which was caused because the app "FAILED TO LOAD PNG FILE 'SELECTION_OVERLAY.PNG'".
Note sure if it matters, but I did run into an issue when upgrading from a9lh to b9s, again, following this guide: https://3ds.hacks.guide/a9lh-to-b9s. I got to "Section II - Installing boot9strap" of the guide. Nothing happens when I hold the the start button but the normal home screen loading. If I hold select on boot, the Luma settings load and appear to have uploaded (I think I was on 7 or 8.0 before) but that's it. But still, apps like FBI can't upgrade through the app so maybe that has something to do with my issue
But yeah, tldr; upgrading from a9lh to b9s My main goal at this moment is to use mystery gift function in the Gen7 Pokemon games for a Japanese code with either a US cartridge (USUM/SuMo) or US CIA (SuMo). I'm looking for the easiest way to do this when 1) don't see direct option in Luma settings and 2) the Luma Locale Switcher doesn't work at all. Thank you
