Homebrew Chainloader menu doesn't show up?

So I was updating my 3ds's to b9s 1.2 and luma 8.1 right now, I can't get the chainloader menu to show by holding start at boot, my 3ds setup is b9s 1.0 and luma 7.1 with luma configured to only show "show nand or user string in system settings", I don't know whats wrong?

Weird same thing is happening on my N3DS holding start on boot doesn't load up anything either.

do u have more than 1 payload in the payloads folder? the chainloader menu won't show up if u have 1 or no payloads present.

Yes I have 2 other payloads along with safeb9sinstaller, I'll remove the other 2 and try again right now brb

can u enter luma settings by holding select? and, these r all .firm files, correct? they're not .bin and have nothing like down_ in the file names?

Yep I can access the luma configuration menu, and yes all the files are .firm extension

Did you call them something like "start_[Payload]" or "x_[Payload]"?

All you have to do is get the new boot.firm file. Which is in the zip file of any luma version you are on.So go here: https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases and download it
