Found it why do you call it homebrew isn't it cfw
No. They're totally different things. "CFW" is "custom firmware" (though semantically speaking, it's not even that when it comes to the 3DS, but rather a set of patches loaded as a single binary), and homebrew is any unofficial, unsigned application that can be ran on the console. Custom firmware allows you to run said applications by patching out signature checks and whatnot.

Homebrew = unofficial apps made by people
CFW = allows you to run homebrew and pirated games

When you need to do something that you think there might be a homebrew for, ask in the noob paradise thread. Not much point installing stuff you don't need yet.

Cool so what are the most useful homebrew apps

  • JK's Save Manager - backup game saves
  • Themely - install custom themes (search for them on https://3dsthem.es)
  • Luma Updater - easily update Luma3DS (I assume you have it if you follow the guide)
  • 3DSident - getting infos about your 3DS such as the screen panels it has
  • And much more on TitleDB...
