Gaming cfw ps3 hard drive question

I got a new hard drive for my cfw ps3 and wanted to know can i back up my hd/games folder directory and my hd/game folder directory to a usb so when I copy them back to my new hard drive I will still have my games and dlc or will I have to re download everything?

just download the pkgs. back up the home folder for your saves and trophies. backing up the game folder is doable, but there's a high probability that data will be lost. the ps3 doesn't like lots of small files, and some games like little big planet have a lot. lbp has over 50,000 files.

    @PandaPandel, OG 3DS is -not- fun to put back together, and that's coming from someone who at the time was pretty familiar with reassembling DS Lites. Total pain in the ass, and screws of varying length that'll poke through the face surface of the bottom half of the shell if you put the wrong screw in the wrong spot. Totally not talking from experience there, nope
