Hacking CFW on 3DS- Need help with something complicated

Hi everyone,

So I have a US region O3DS XL (stock on) and a EU region O2DS running Luma3ds with b9strap. Everything is updated on stock (11.6) and cfw devices. I do not own one of the flashkarts that allow me to easily cfw my O3DS and I live in a country (Fiji) where it's hard to have it shipped to me. My plan at the moment is:

1. Take my O3DS and wipe it's memory
2. Take my O2DS and region change it to US.
3. Use the NNID my O3DS had on my O2DS.
4. Use the DSIware game injection method on the 3DS guide website.
5. Now I restore my O2DS with a NAND backup to go back to it's EU region.
6. My O3DS now has my original NNID for US and is CFW.

Does this seem like the right way to go? I know it's a bit risky. I could stuff it up anywhere and end up with unusable devices. My question is if this will work in theory or am I too hopeful with my understanding of how installing CFW on my 3DS should work?

You might have better luck using the seedminer method. With it, you don't need to do a system transfer to do the DSiWare method.

what dsiware game do you have and on which system? there is now a way to use dsiware and only one system from my understanding

Thank you so much for the swift reply. From my understanding the only thing I will need from O2DS in this method is the friend code file which needs to be put on my 3DS folder and then I follow the rest of the instructions using the GPU method. The guide says that Sudoku is the best one to use in terms of DSIware injection. Is that still the case?

You need to exchange Friend Codes with someone with homebrew access to get the LFCS, but everything else you said is correct. I, or someone else, can help you do this.

Everything worked out. Had some issues with ctcert.bin seeing as my O2DS was an EU device but I managed to seek some assistance with that and finally have cfw on my 3DS. Thanks to everyone that helped out!
