I have a switch on 4.0 running sx os 2.5.1. Playing skyrim in handheld mode drained the battery in an hour and a half. Is that normal?

This is the 2nd battery related question I've seen today about the Switch. The first was asking if it was normal for 3 hours for Mario Odyssey. - It all depends on screen brightness and how demanding the game is. Skyrim is very demanding for a tablet. You'd be better getting a power-bank as backup for when it runs out.

There are games that drains battery really fast and it's still pretty normal. One example is botw which can last you 2 and a half to 3 hours per full charge.

It all depends on what clock the console is running for the game. Skyrim requires a high clock to keep up to its *ahem* high optimization so battery can drain even faster than Breath of the Wild.

Afaik, switch has only 1 clock speed when not docked.
GPU clock speed can go from 307.2 MHz to 384 MHz while undocked. About 20% of difference. Don't remember if it's game specific locked frequency or dynamic scaled, however.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I also noticed that my battery drained 10% in an hour , after I powered it off via 10-12 second long press on the power button. I just uninstalled auto rcm to see if that changes that powered-off battery drain. Have you guys noticed anything similar?
