Which of the CFWs have the best battery life? I just bought a PSP with 5.00 M33-6, and unless I'd get better life from the other I see no reason to update to GEN-B or GEN-D2, really.

Lol battery life should not mather per version.
Its the way it is being used that mathers.

For example playing a full 3D game that needs continuous loading will drain more battery than a small 2D game that does not.

Things that drain battery fast:
- Using wifi \ adhoc
- Playing from UMD (More battery than from memstick)
- Playing on full brightness
- Putting the sound full open

Now saying you will not update to GEN-D2 if it does not increase your PSP its battery life.
Is complete bull crap and took me lot of patience not to put flaming here.
New CFW`s are made to support gaming.

Never were new CFW`s released to increase battery life. :S

I never said they were released for that purpose. All I said was that unless there was an improvement in battery life I didn't see any other reason to update to the GEN-D2 firmware, since I've heard a few people complain about shorter life with GEN-B. Otherwise, I really don't see any reason not to stay with 5.00-M33, as I can still play all my games with it and use the trick to access the store through MediaGo anyways.

Bite his head off why don't you?

I've never heard anyone say that GEN B uses more battery.

CFW has nothing to do with battery life. It's in your best interest to update to GEN-D2 as it has the best game compatibility of all the CFWs to date, and it's bug-free from what I can tell from using it. My battery is usually 10-12 hours, but I have an extended battery kit.

It's not necessarily in anyone's best interest to use a specific cfw. It's all a matter of personal preference at this point. All games are playable on all cfw so it's not un-called-for for someone to look at other things when deciding which cfw to use.

Ah ok misunderstanding there sorry for that.

Got 3 PSP`s myself 2X 100x and a 300x.
Still got one of the 100x models running on 5.00 M33-6 also.
Dunt know why really but I use timemachine on it and I do not feel like getting trouble with that or any of the emulators that I run on it.

Tried my memstick + pandora in the 5.50 also works fine but I just prefer to run it on M33.
As for the other 100x I have 5.50 GEN-D2 running on it and I use it to play PSP games.

Iam very sure not all games function on 5.00
If all games that you want to play work that is nice for the moment.
But like I said the reason new CFW was released is to support newwer games.
It is very likely games will get released that require GEN firmwares you want to play.
As for now I do not see a new M33 firmware get released soon.

At first I tought the GEN firmwares were dodgy but they seem to be working just fine.
The only thing I would like to see is a mem stick speed up hack for GEN D2.
Not that I really notice a huge difference.

Do as you please everyone has his own favorite.

3ds still seems to be an emulation powerhouse with little to counteract it (what are you going to use? A phone... hah). To that end second hand prices are likely to remain for a while
  • FAST6191 @ FAST6191:
That said 3ds has no games so one can hope

Citra has gotten way more powerful iirc

The 3D effect was nice to begin with, but even Nintendo stopped putting it into games.
