    Hi GBAtempians.

I think I covered enough ground that I can start sharing my second DS project: Cell.

It features an escape-the-room type experience with a dark atmosphere and haunting visuals.
The layout is similar to my first project, The 15th Floor.

    Here's a taste of what's to come.

    Suggestions/ideas very welcome!

xD it looks awesome (has a Theresia: Dear Emile feeling). The only thing that looks out of place is the "Inventory - L" in plain text with no borders, although that is something that could be fixed in a heartbeat probably xD.

I'm not digging the font overall too much (except the handwriting which looks amazing), but it definitely looks like it's gonna be a great game.

I picked up a copy of Theresia: Dear Emile just for inspiration before I started, actually! Unfortunately, I never finished. Those traps and slow pacing really didn't do it for me. But the atmosphere was spot-on. I'm trying my best to capture the sense of unease.

Still playing with the fonts, yes. I picked the description font because the color tone seemed to match. I don't really dig it stylistically. The inventory font will definitely change, as will the entire top screen. I'm not sure what I want to do with it quite yet...

I like the concept and game. It draws inspiration from the 15th Floor, which a lot of homebrew nowadays seems to be doing, but is also different with the "escape" aspect. The lighting looks a little too dark (but that could just be the screenies), but otherwise it looks good.

Always great to see homebrew devs.

I like how no one who makes their games in DSGamemaker advises this fact when presenting their game on any other forum. Nothing against you tom as your games are great but I am LOLing that their is no mention of the app here. The app is so frowned upon in the homebrew scene that no one comes straight out and says they use it.

Hope this new game is as good if not better than the last.

I like working with art and story, and nothing at all of a technical whiz. You and James both know that. I'm terrible at programming, and to be honest, the game's "engine" is ridiculously simple. Just BGs and tons of variables. No math at all. But it works, and I just want it to look and feel legit. I'm not trying to pull wool over anyone's eyes here.

The only reason I use GBAtemp to post my DSGM projects is so I can get unbiased feedback (which will now be biased) and improve the quality, as the expectation level is significantly higher with this forum.

I'm not embarrassed using a game maker, because I put a great deal of time and effort into the work. If I sound up in arms about this, I'm really not. I'm just explaining the reasons.
