can I use someone else's nand backup in conjunction with my otp is one of the things I'm trying to get an answer to
if it was that easy no one else would have bricked ever, since you could get a random nand dump from the web lol, you need your specific console nand dump or else it wont work.

i think not,if so,it would be posted over here.
or there are no programs to do it.
best way to setup cbh is to setup rednand first and do a nand backup.
and then do all other steps.
to today i not see a person that bricked his wiiu with cbh that fixed it without-
hardmod and nand backup.
i readed the faq multiple times, setup my sdcard like in the faq and do it step by step-
and checked everything,maybe 20min work.
i did it also for my cousin because he has not the skills, even its simple, just READING.
its a lesson for you in the future,if you have doubts about anything, first visit forums where people are that can help you out.
i dont have a backup off my nand because i have much experience in hack consoles.
but i understand its not for all simple, because for many its maybe the first time.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

in the wii era,i think could use a donor nand, but the system was wider hacked.
wiiu is hacked, but in early stages, nintendo made it also more difficult and also the -
wiiu doesnt have the interest the wii hat.
you could keep the broken wiiu for maybe in the future if there comes a solution for it.

I had CBHC installed, but uninstalled it and only use Haxchi now. The only reason I'd want redNAND is for the nand backup ability. Is it possible to set up redNAND only to the point of backing up the NAND, then just get rid of it and continue to use Haxchi?

If you "point" it to the nand backup then you'll be using rednand. Backup your nand to PC using tools here and then once you have a solid backup on your pc start using HaxChi.

i use cbh on regular base for more as a month now without 1 problem, its really superb.
its the best hack out for wiiu.
but you are from the us,its to far to send me in your wiiu so that i hack it.

Dog with a bone, I know. My thoughts have turned to the old wiikey days. Any chance someone knows of a dvd chip for the wii u which may allow us to load a boot disc and enable access to the wii u menu so that people in my situation can uninstall cold boot from the incorrect vc game.
I promise to drop it after this last desperate attempt.

there is no way to unbrick, there is no wiiu chip or boot disc, only nintendo has a special sd card that can unbrick wiius and they arent gonna give it to you and it was never dumped or found.

so what do u cbhc experts think? is it worth installing it? r bricks usually caused by user error or can the system randomly brick? I have it installed (playing now).

99% of the people install it just fine, the only way to brick is instal it over a noone legit vc game, overwriting it with wup installer when on cfw that isnt the default cfw in cbhc like mocha(the cfw from cbhc prevents overwriting it btw) or format your console, if you already got it running you are gold, unless you somehow format your console lol.

I copied the game from my external hdd instead of moving it to prevent a question mark tile on redNAND. I don't use it, but I want both NANDs "clean." as a result, the icon and text r the same as what's on my external hdd which is something I customized. what would happen if I clicked on that icon if it's like the external hdd haxchi?

yu have cbhc installed on rednand?

no, it's installed on sysNAND, not sure what would happen if I clicked on the game on redNAND. both sysNAND and redNAND seem to be pointing to the game on the external hdds, so the icon and meta text r what they r without cbhc. I simply copied over the game from the external hdd, so cbhc is using the NAND version while the system menus seem to be pointing to the external hdd version.

well it should maybe reboot your wiiu again, thats what it does on sysnand, i never used rednand so no idea, and rednand is even user friendly for the overal user since it has barely any benefits except for devs.

that's to play around with if I ever choose to. I have all games' tickets saved to both NANDs. I've already added region hax manually as well as removed a fake ticket through hex on both NANDs. no issues whatsoever with any of those things. I mostly know about the ps3 and the 360, so I'm trying to learn about the other systems like the wii u, so I can do some of the more advanced stuff with a little guidance like from @Madridi. :-P

wonder who I can bribe to get that leaked. hehehe

Ok so what I can make out from the posts of help which I am extremely great full for "Thank You".
I injected cold boot to an out of region vc game. There has been suggestions posted if I get a friends Nand dump in conjunction with my OTP file which I have, then find someone to flash his Nand after rebuilding it to my wii u via hardware then it might be saved.
Does this sound correct?
I have access to a few people that repair game consoles including rebuilding Xbox Nand so if enough people think this is a good idea I shall employ their services. Any thoughts?

After reading a little bit more ; that could be impossible either because each system title is signed also. So yoo ll never be able to provide a corect isgnature

Man i would sell my house for that SDCard...

There are way too many lifes taken by car accidents, should we ban car manufacturing altogether?
If it is manufacturing flaws, yes they should be recalled or banned. But if it is user error, who can you blame?

There are detailed instructions and clear warnings but yet people still managed not to follow the instructions and ignored the warnings, who can you blame? May be we should find a way to only allow ppl with a computer degree to download these things? much like a driving license?
That's exactly what I meant by your "driving license", he should take the main files down and use it so you need to download the master folder from github and compile the cbhc.elf file at the end yourself, then I would of thought if you can do that part you can definitely install the damn thing correctly...

Maybe I'm slow: what would 99% of the people (not haxxors and soldering magicians) do with a NAND backup and a bricked Wii U today?
Is this yet another instance of driving people towards mocha/rednand with no real reason?

Just buy a used central unit and pair your existing gamepad with the new unit. Solved, 70$.
