Especially if you want to keep your games in one place and possibly at a minimum next to your TV. Compatibility is very close to perfect with most of them and development is ongoing. Most problems are with problematic games (just like with most emulators).

SD2SNES
SNES PowerPak

Reading reviews of those can give you a pretty good guess of which one would be the best.

I was planning on getting the SD2SNES myself (best cart for getting translated and hacked roms, as well as homebrew to work) but the price and frequency of them being made is discouraging. Actually Krikzz makes both the super everdrive and the SD2SNES so the best option for time strapped individuals is usually the SNES powerpak which is still a great option for those who don't mind keeping the fancier chip assisted games like star fox near by since it won't load them.

My favourite part about these flashcarts is the ability to play translated/hacked/homebrew games. Right now my mega everdrive has sonic 2 xl in it and the whole "weight physics" adds a humorous and interesting challenge to the game. heres a link to show gameplay:

Ha thats pretty funny I have never seen that mod ^. I have the opportunity to pick up a Sony PVM-20M2MDU Monitor for not too much. Have you heard anything about these?
 
Oh nice man. Ya the reason I asked is it was recommended to me from a friend and he pointed me to a place local that has it. Ok so just a question if you happen to know. If i scoop this one up, and a SNES like ^ he has in the video, what is the cable I would want to use? Does is require me having to make my own cable if you happen to know by chance? Thanks bro and the picture on that monitor looks amazing.

Edit * He says component married to a SCART cable. I dont know how well or if I would be capable of making it.

for now the s-video cable I recommended in an earlier post will work on that monitor and is worth about 7 bucks. to me this is easier than modifying cables with converters and the adio/video quality from the old RF that came with all SNES's to s-video cable is large and very noticeable.

to marry a scart to component you could always buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/SPECIALTY-AV-...8217&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=scart+to+compone+t though I'm not very knowledgable with this kind of stuff yet so take this info as a base for further reading and not as the only truth.

K thanks bud. Sorry for all these questions today (= .... I am good in other areas but I know technical things in the area of video and audio isn't my thing. In your opinion, would this monitor take a s*** on a Samsung CRT with component lol ? Im debating if I should scoop this up.
 
the sony crt monitor is medical grade and has the ability to use all the signals you can throw at it and allows for pal gaming natively. the samsung however I know nothing about since I don't have a model number to compare the two options. To me, just from the connectors and ability to go from pal to ntsc on the fly, the sony is the best option though who knows the shape it's in but at least it still has parts you can order if something goes wrong later on.

This is the one I have ----> Its the Samsung GR25M21 26 inch. Im curious if the picture quality on the Sony would be worth changing for or very noticable. Other than that I am done with the question for now and thank you for the time. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ele/3476347764.html

both options have their pros and cons

sony:
+pal and ntsc
+ more connections
+ superior resolution (this was both used in the medical world as well as in post production purposes in the media)
+ less lag (though you might not notice this)
+ easier to repair
- smaller size
-probably heavier

samsung:
+ size by a good six inches
+ cheaper
- couldn't find any parts if fixing is needed later

the sony will be smoother and more appealing to the eyes but at a sacrifice in screen size. however it is by far the better of the two options for the retro gaming enthusiast. of course it's really up to the eyes to make the final decision here so ask if you can plug one of the game systems you own into it firs to see the difference for yourself. this will of course be more noticeable the better the cable connection you bring for testing.

it's the cc that's laughable i'll take my REAL wireless wavebird controller over the CC anyday and the batt is way better too since it doesnt have to leech off the mote :P
