I got a genuine Zelda OOT cart, I think this game has no online features.
What if I dump the game and extract the unique id from the rom image?

Injecting unique id of a game with no online features to one which has such features, will eventually work?

Thanks.

Nice... extracting headers from games not meant to go online should reduce the risk of ban if they're sold as 2nd hand so...
Assuming that the 2nd hand user doesn't extract the header again... :)

Now, the only negative thing is that all my save data will be lost if I change the id of all my games... :/

You won't lose your saves if you follow this tutorial:

[TUTORIAL] How to export/import Gateway Card1 .sav to eShop/3ds/3dz with SaveDataFiler

This is only for Card1 saves, not Card2 (Card2 are Pokémon, AC:NL, etc...). For those, the process is much more straightforward (just mount game, export with savedatafiler, inject your private header into your .3dz (or .3ds, if it's a fresh ROM), then mount the game again and restore the save with savedatafiler again.

It is a tedious process for Card1 games, and you'll have to do them 1 by 1, but it's worth it to restore your saves. Not all games need to be changed, just the ones you play online (no point changing .3ds ROMs' header since they don't go online).

in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
