The new trailer for Capcom's latest IP, Remember Me, got leaked a bit early. The trailer (available above) shows off some of the hand-to-hand combat, some of the environment and story, and a taste of a boss battle.

"Remember Me" was announced a couple months ago, borrowing some riffs from Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, and Total Recall. The player takes the role of Nilin, a "memory hunter" with no memory of her own. The game is set to release May of this year for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.

EDIT: Personal take on the trailer below:

Meh, looked kinda boring. The voice acting felt very flat, environment seemed nothing special (typical Blade Runner-City 17-Total Recall mashup), and the combat is apparently really different (like you can create your own combos) but they only showcase the same boring combo. Also the boss battle seemed beyond stupid.

However Capcom has really done well with new IPs this generation, from Dead Rising to Dragon's Dogma to Asura's Wrath. Who knows, it could be good but it seems pretty scarce on info and only a few months away. For reference, The Last of Us (another May release) has a good chunk of trailers and press on it already.

This feels such a troll moment when all Megaman fans find out its not the blue bomber trailer.

Ugh can't get that guy from that other M trailer out of my head dammit. Someone please lobotomize me!

- Remember me? :tpi:

Can't say if the game is fun or not judging from what we've seen honestly, but I'll keep an eye on it.

The game does look impressive, it just that I hope the storyline is well thought out. The game mechanics can be amazing but if the story drags-on or becomes vague then I don't anyone will find this interesting to talk about.

I think it can probably be said I have given up on Assassin's creed at this point, I might have a go at this if it showcases something worth seeing closer to release.

Why does it look like that?

And by that, I mean bad. The character models look very plasticky, and the environments, while looking big, look bland and as if you can only go one way, and the combat just seems like a mindless button masher. Also, voice acting needs to go because it's shit in this game.

I have never seen blade runner so I have no idea what city 17 is...

Psst
Blade runner - considered a seminal sci fi film. I am not a fan and have tried many different cuts.
City 17 - City from Half Life 2
Total Recall - another fairly noted sci fi film.

The first and third maybe did not define the grim and gritty future city with lots of neon idea (minus the neon most would probably say 1927's Metropolis for that one- you can see it all on youtube if you want) but they certainly did put the aesthetic in the popular culture and have it become a visual shorthand.

That said I do not see it as a mashup of those items, maybe "50 years earlier" in a pinch. To my eye it looked somewhat more like a logical conclusion to current trends.
