If this doesn't fix it, then you might have a bootleg SD card, there are a lot of bootleg one out there.

@CoverlessTripod Where did you buy your SD card and what brand is it?
There are many fakes that report a higher capacity but are in reality only 2-8GB in size, and when you try to fill them up past that the files will corrupt. Sounds like what's happening to you.
I'm not sure a ctrtransfer is a good idea until you've made sure it's not a fake SD card, if the ctrtransfer file is corrupted you may brick.

i bought it on aliexpress and supposedly it's a samsung 64 GB sd card, when it came the adapter didn't work so i'm guessing it's a fake?

3ds require FAT32, 32kb cluster, Primary partition.

Not that the cluster size is the issue here, but 32kb is not a requirment. 64 works just fine and is actually faster in certain things like taking screenshots for one.

Have you tried other cias? If it's just the one, then it's just a corrupt cia.

yes, i have tried multiple and they all fail except like 10 mb
EDIT: wow i just tried it on a kingston 1 gb sd card and it worked.. but theres no way my other fake sd is just 500 mb right? so why doesnt it work?!!!

There's your problem. Never buy memory cards from China or from small sellers. Only buy them from reputable stores such as Amazon themselves or a local store.

Yep,thanks so much, although i believe the sd is 8 gb, and i would still like to make use of it, since the other one is 1 gb.. will it actually work or is it just fake altogether?

You can format it to the actual size, but there's no guarantee the card won't go bad or corrupt your files.

First of all you should test it with F3 to make sure what the real capacity is: https://fight-flash-fraud.readthedocs.io/en/stable/introduction.html#download-and-compile
Looks like you have to compile it yourself. If you were on Windows I'd suggest h2testw.
Then you can just use any partition manager to create a partition of that exact size.
