Alright, so:

I have a 30GB 5th Generation iPod, which is marked as working in the Compatibility List.
It's formatted as FAT32.
When I try to use it with USB Loader GX it doesn't even load it and just shows a black screen and my Wi freezes.
If I plug it in after I've loaded USB Loader GX, it doesn't recognize anything and then freezes at 1 second left on the countdown

With Configurable USB Loader, it just shows a grey screen with "Configurable USB Loader" with a freeze.

It seems to me that either smeone marked it working when it doesn't, or 'm doing something wrong.

Yes it is in Disk Mode.

Please help?!

first off and this will make it sound stupid but
why the heck are u planning to use your ipod as wbfs drive to tune your wii games in?

2.nd Ipod is an apple made MP3 player not a free for use mobile hard drive
( yes you can use it for mobile hard drive purposes but u cannot reformat them to your liking)

wich make 3rd rather obvious

your wii doesnt support fat32 or ntfs drives
it must be installed as wbfs drive to be recognized in the first place

go read the softmod bible on the backuploader page for all the details on how to use a hard drive as wbfs backup loader

@dr.clipper
ios 222 or 249 have not much to do with putting a fat32 drive on your wii
but yes i agree u need them to use gx loader

wii does support ntfs and fat32 drives with the latest cIOS222

I'm using a ntfs drive and it's working perfect

Did you put your .wbfs files in root:\wbfs\ directory?

Try updating cIOS222

confidence ? no i dont use c222(correct me iam probably wrong here for not using it)
not found a reason to update cIOS222 yet

i softmodded 249 and 251 to get it to work on 4.2
and why would i want to use ntfs and fat32 when i got a separate hard drive purposely for the Wii formated as wbfs

so far all 184 games i downloaded are playable with 1 as exception
Dragon blade Wrath of Fire(jp) doesn't work probably cos its Japanese

Try using Configurable and set the video patch option to on for that game. It should get it working (unless there's also an IOS reload issue in that game).

Because I have a total of $0 towards buying a new hard drive, and I have 14 GB open on my iPod.

Thanks for the responses, I'm gonna go try updating my cIOS222, though I recently did.

QUOTEDid you put your .wbfs files in root:\wbfs\ directory?
Yes it for sure is.

EDIT: Installed a new cIOS222, which loader should try?

EDIT2: cIOS222 works with Configurable USB Loader, thanks to all.

Topic may now be closed, if the mods so wish.
