Misc Can't create NNID with FW 4.1.0 U

Hello - I am new to this forum. I recently purchased a new Wii U Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and I update to 4.1.0 U from the game disc. I wanted to created a Nintendo network ID so that I can play online game but the system asked that I update to the latest FW. Is there anyway I can create a network ID without doing the update.

I posted the same question in another but seems to get no reply. Sorry for having double post here.

You cannot play online without updating.

I ended up with updating to 5.5.0 in order to create a NNID from the wii u console.
