I can't update my PS4 with a broken drive and I can't find anyone who can fix it. I've tried fixing it myself (cleaned rollers, checked connections, checked fuses F201 and F203, etc) but the drive just doesn't do anything. No pulling discs in, no ejecting discs, and no spinning a game up when inside. I really don't know what to do so I'm stuck on 6.50 until I figure it out. Is there some way to circumvent this failure to update (Error SU-42118-6) because of a faulty drive? Or what? I've tried everything as far as updating goes. Let it try downloading on its own, error. Tried manually starting one, error. Downloaded in safe mode, error. Downloaded 6.51 and 7.51 to USB (retail and recovery), error. Tried to wipe the PS4 using USB with 6.51 and 7.51, error. I'm at my wit's end and don't know what to do, or how to fix this dead drive. The system is on OFW but I want to keep it as low as possible for if/when new hacks come out for these firmwares. Got it used and need this fixed. HELP!
