i updated to 4.01 M-33 as well but i know that irshell as example das not work with it and i heard other ppl saying several other programms do not like 4.01 as well

so yeah i think the 3.95 GEN would be better to use.

Ok, TC, read this, and read it good.

1. Update you psp to 4.01 M33. NOW. If it's a phat, also install the 1.50 kernel to run homebrew, etc. Do not upgrade to 4.01-2 M33. STAY AT 4.01. I had too many issues with 4.01-2. No problems with 4.01.
(This is MANDATORY if you want PSP to work) Also, dont be afraid of some apps not working. as long as you have eloader or 1.50 installed, it should play fine.

2. rename you Phantasy Star Portable FOLDER containing your Eboot.pbp & File.FPB to this:

ULJM1014

now it should run. I had the same problem, that error, because the folder wasnt named properly when I DL'd it.

I got it from somewhere else, and it had that code, as if it was a PSN store code. Once I had that, I tried renaming my original version of PSP and it magiaclly started working.

So, have fun. I cant wait till this game comes out, by the way

Pissed that this won't be released outside of Japan...

Is it tough to translate PSP games? D: I'd like to see this translated into English, or at least the basics.

how do you know they won't translate it in the future ?

the game is not yet released in Japan and they don't allways tell everyone before original release about plans for translations.

They would be very stupid not to translate this game, they already make good money with PS and XBOX version (is der a PS3 version ???) and i believe a PSP version would bring them much money as well ...

maybe they just want to see if they can sell it good in Japan to have a little overview on how much they can assume to sell? or whatever

When people realize it's ADHOC only it won't bring AS much money in.

As for not being released, it's just not stated yet, and although it CAN happen, I'm banking on it not happening.

The GC->PS2, PC, and XBOX versions DID make tons of money, but I can't really say whether or not they'll bother, they'll probably wait to test the waters first. I'm really hoping if they do, they'll have the English version bring some WiFi. So far it's AD HOC only, but maybe they'll throw WiFi in the long run, I don't want to need to download that XLink crap and get a WiFi max or w/e the hell it is.

on several Japanese pages they say it has a real Online mode and not only adhock.
but well ... i will wait and hope for a release.

But hmm ... the town is "missing" i am sad that they changed it to only text based, so i dunno ... couldn't try adhock mode yet so i have no clue how this should work anyways

You can do ad hoc without having to have people around.

By the way, the demo itself seems to have WiFi, cause if you're not near a WiFi spot it won't let you in, but it could be something else.
