Hacking Cannot read multimedia

I was trying to put an .avi on my SD card and run it off a media loader. It move through the directory and select the file. My Wii freezes and I must reboot. Why is this?
Is there a IOS or cIOS I forgot about? I am completely rigged to run backups off USB HDD.

I have tried every media player in the homebrew browser. Some stated to run off of DVD+R's...those were said to be unread and it could not play it.

And so I moved to moving the files to my SD...all of them crashed. I deleted the programs so I am currently having trouble retrieving the names.

you use wiimc ?

look at a tutorial for noob
in French but it does not matter there are many images

grab the latest wiimc and the ios202 installer. install the installer first then launch wiimc and navigate to file . it should work.
