Homebrew Cannot boot safeb9sinstaller to get CFW

Hey everyone. I looked up numerous amount of guides on gbatemp relating my problem but no help. Information about my situation below...

- I'm using an r4i b9s kit from modchipsdirect - ( a review of this kit was made in this form )
- The gray flashcart used to install b9s (I believe), I do not have the original SD card given when bought but I have the grey flashcart
- My console is a New 3DS XL, I've used multiple SD Cards and formatted each before I start the process of cfw.


- All files and folders ( excluding the Nintendo 3DS folder ) were downloaded from the ntrboot guide at 3ds guide
- The boot9strap folder contains two files: boot9strap firm and boot9strap firm sha

A concern I have is, I don't think my white Flashcart is installing the essential needs for cfw

And my main problem is while the magnet puts my console to sleep and I try to hold X + Start + Select then press power, the console puts in the main menu instead of safeboot9installer.

I believe I explained my situation well, please give aid me to add cfw on this device and many more to come. Thanks

When the console is on, is the flashcard showing on the menu?

If the console shows the home menu right after pressing start+power+all that, then maybe the magnet is not in the right place.

Try this, take the flaschard out, turn off the 3DS and then put it back and do the buttons stuff. I had this issue before. Dont turn off the console with the flashcard inside.

Edit: It looks like the flashcard you are using needs an sd card (not the original tho) so maybe that sd card should contain some folders for it to work?

Did you find the sweet spot with the magnet, remove the magnet, power off the console, put the magnet back, hold the button combination and turn it on?

I did, same results, nothing.

When I turn the console on holding the buttons down and the magnet in place, the cartridge doesnt appear, but when I boot the console without doing anything it does appear.

See the problem is, ( I could be wrong ) I need to use the grey cartridge card to flash it. Also, when I do install NTRboot with the white cartridge It does not let me pick the cartridge I'm compatible with. I believe I need to use an older version of NTRboot, what do you think? I'll try your suggestion again and post an update. Thanks for the help.

BTW, my cartridge is from modchipsdirect its called R4i b9s kit, a review of the product was made giving more details about it, I believe that'll help if you check it out.

Update : The latest release of NTRBoot doesnt support my cartridge.

Already done.

Either the card is bootleg, you didnt flash it, or you didnt get the correct spot if all the files is correct. It does take more than one attempt to get into the setup screen for B9S.

Make sure the boot.firm and boot.3dsx file are on the consoles SD card not the flashcarts

Big Update : After I followed the method on 3ds.guide I realized it is not might for my cartridge, and what I previously did destroyed permanent features on my cart. BUT, I'm able to revive the cart with a backup bin file which I have. Can someone aid me to restore my cartridge?

well you need a modded 3ds to restore the cart and if you cant boot into safeb9sinstaller then either you are doing something wrong or the cart is bricked which is uncommon and if it was bricked you wouldnt even be able to use the backup

I did brick it, ntrboot doesnt support my cartridge it says it in the description. I guess I'll have to find an alternative to mod it then fix my cart. Thanks everyone.
