I was just wondering, can you be able to change your HDD real serial number with a program or something?

I don't think you can, but why would you want to do that anyways?

You can't change the real serial number unless it is stored on a eeprom chip, the volume serial can be changed eaisly

Apparently certain programs/games uses it to generate a serial key for games bought online.

Actually, i was just asking for my dad. He said that he bought some software and lost the serial number, and the software locked the serial (of the software) to the HDD (so my dad says....). Since the program is very unknown, so he resorted to changing HDD serial.

Thanks for your replies ^^. It's just that he's been annoying me about it these past 5 days >.>.
