Only 1 rom per micro sd you say?

Would an option be to buy lots of small capacity micro sd cards to put the games on so they are interchangeable/easier for the kids?

It is an option, but I think you should buy a bigger microsd card and wait for multirom support. Gateway is releasing multirom support soon so the clones should be able to copy them in a month or so.

I think I am just going to stick with the small 1gb micro cards for the min.

I will get a larger card if/when they release the multi-rom support which sounds cool

3DS games can go up to 4GB in size for 1 game
and because its 4GB exactly you need a 8GB microSD card for those games

you can check game sizes here
3ds.essh.co

you have the divide the Size by 8 as its in Bits not Bytes

Yeah, OP. A 1GB micro SD really isn't gonna cut it. Bare minimum should be an 8GB so you won't have to worry about buying one later when you try to run a game that's too large for that tiny 1GB card.

Gateways full 2.0 update should be coming around Christmas and the clones should follow soon, hopefully it'll include multirom support.
