I'm trying to install a USB loader on my LU64 V4U Wii.

I've tried Configurable USB, CoverFloader and USB Loader GX, none of them will see the USB Drive.

I've tried both USB ports, still nothing.

I've tried a raw unformulated drive, a FAT32 drive and a WBFS formatted drive done thru WBFS Manager on my PC.

I've tried a WD 500GB MyBook (which is on the compatibility list I saw somewhere) and a USB jump drive.

Do the USB ports need to be activated or something?

I'm pretty sure the ports work, I'm using one of them to charge my rechargeable Wiimotes.

I know both of the drives I tried work, because I use them all the time.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks;

Steve

Try different cIOSes. The only one that can detect my hard drive is hermes' cIOS 222. Try his uLoader first and if it does you can configure several other loaders to work with 222 so you have some loader options.

Also, cIOS 38 rev14 is supposed to be released within the next 5 days. It might be able to work with your drive if nothing else does.

FYI - with cIOS 222 you need to connect your drive to the USB port that is closest to the outer edge of the Wii.

Thanks, I'll try that this evening.

This should not be a problem with an LU64 v4U Wii correct?

Thanks agin;

Steve

Try uloader developed by Hermes. The CIOS and app are developed by one person so it is more compatible.

Thanks everyone.

I tried cIOS 222 and Uloader (by Hermes).

cIOS 222 seemed to install properly, but Uloader just hangs on a black screen when I try to install it.

I don't have everything in front of me, but during the installation of cIOS 22 (I think) it asked if I wanted to attach it to 249 or something like that, I wasn't sure about that step, but since that was the default it's the on I went with.

Was this wrong?

i have a my book 500 gb that i was having trouble with make sure you make the wbfs partition primary and not logical

the problem i was having is it would load up and a bunch of blank covers would come up but when i switched it to primary it worked fine

Do the later versions of cIOS36 actually improve USB drive compatibility? I've never seen that mentioned in their release notes.

Thanks, but my issue is that any of the USB Loaders will not see a drive connected to the Wii.
